Mochi-Yo was founded in 2008 by Kirk Goza, Edward Song and Weston Bergmann.

Kirk Goza

Kirk Goza successfully founded and managed a successful car detailing business under the name Kansas Detailing before moving to New York to study at Columbia University. In 2007, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics. He returned to his hometown in 2008 to found Mochi-Yo, modeling the concept after a popular frozen yogurt chain in Korea that combined tart frozen yogurt and fresh fruit toppings. He partnered with his college roommate, Edward Song, who introduced him to the Korean fro-yo trend, and his childhood friend and Kansas Detailing co-founder Weston Bergmann to open Mochi-Yo's flagship store in Leawood.

Edward Song

Edward discovered tart frozen yogurt while visiting his family in Korea. Realizing the potential of fro-yo, he convinced Kirk to visit Korea to see the frozen yogurt sensation that had become so popular there. On their return, Edward and Kirk set about branding the concept for the Midwest. In 2008, Edward graduated with a dual bachelor's degree from Columbia University and New York University's Stern School of Business in Economics-Math and Finance, respectively. He is currently working on a healthy, Korean-style quick service concept to supplement the Mochi-Yo family.

Weston Bergmann

Weston graduated Cum Laude from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business in the Spring of 2008 with a double concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Management. He has headlined a collegiate speaking engagement tour across the country for the last three years as a motivational speaker on the subjects of alcohol abuse, environmentally friendly business practices, and "Rock the Vote" political awareness. In 2007 he founded Melee Marketing, a production and promotion company in Scottsdale, AZ. The company promoted for the nightclubs and bars throughout the greater metropolitan city of Phoenix. Weston is also an active angel investor in The Parlor, an upscale sports bars in Los Angeles. He is currently acting as Mochi-Yo's Marketing Director.
